Biography
Anne Graue has been a poet since the age of 17 and a published poet since 2009. After earning a degree in creative writing and literature from Kansas State University, she spent 3 years in Kenya with the Peace Corps. She found her way to Columbia University in New York where she completed a master’s degree in English Education, and she’s been teaching and writing ever since. Most of her poems observe moments in the manufactured and natural worlds; the space between is where she finds the most tension and the most meaning. Many of her poems are moments of memoir.
Graue is the author of Full and Plum-Colored Velvet, (Woodley Press, 2020) and Fig Tree in Winter (Dancing Girl Press, 2017). Her poetry has appeared in Verse Daily, Gargoyle, Poet Lore, SWWIM Every Day, Anthropocene Poetry Journal, Rivet Journal, MER, Leon Literary Review, Feral: A Journal of Poetry and Art, EcoTheo Review, The 5-2, The Poetry Coop, New Verse News, Anti-Heroin Chic, Into the Void, The Ilanot Review, and in numerous print anthologies, including The Book of Donuts (Terrapin Books, 2017) and Coffee Poems (World Enough Writers, 2019). Her reviews of poetry collections have been published in Glass: A Journal of Poetry, The Rupture, Whale Road Review, Green Mountains Review, The Kenyon Review, and The Rumpus. She is a poetry editor for The Westchester Review.
